SUMMARY:Science & Society Meeting
DESCRIPTION:State of the art of participatory research and of its challenges\n\n\n\nThis symposium aims at gathering scientists and researchers on the topics of participatory research\, participatory action research and/or citizen science. Participatory protocols and methods of research are being developed as ways of involving citizens in science and technology. Citizens’ participation in science is seen as a way to improve democracy and public debate and to better address current environmental\, social\, technological challenges \n\n\n\nMain objectives of the symposium:\n\n\n\n\nto gather national and international expertise on participatory research or citizen science\, as tools currently promoted by the European union\, national and regional organizations to improve citizen involvment in “science with and for society” programs (“SwafS” as in Horizon 2020 programs at the EU level) \n\n\n\nto undertake analytical work in order to better establish shared definitions and evaluation methods of participatory research or citizen science\, their procedures\, objectives and outputs.\n\n\n\nto bring together researchers and stakeholders of the sometimes so called “scientific third sector”\, in order to constitute a reflexive community of practice and research on the issues of democracy in science\, innovation and technology and citizen involvment in knowledge production.\n\n\n\n\nThe full programme\, the members of the organizing committee and how to register can be find on the link above. \n\n\n\nAll interested people are welcome to attend the symposium. \n\n\n\nAll the presentations will be translated in French  and English.
