The University of Siena and the University of Bayreuth participate in an Eramus KA220-HED project called “BRIDGE”. This project has just organized its second official meeting in Florence on February 16th and 17th 2026.
What is the BRIDGE project?
The core mission of the BRIDGE project is to promote intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, and democratic cohesion across European Higher Education. To achieve this, they are working on three main deliverables:
- A Digital Pedagogical Museum to highlight inspiring practices and stimulate dialogue.
- Specialized Micro-credentials to train professionals in intercultural competencies.
- Guidelines to help universities effectively integrate diversity, human rights, and equality into their governance and curricula.
The first in-person meeting
True to the project’s focus on cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, the communication was a beautiful linguistic blend, switching between English, Italian, and Spanish throughout the meetings, with Zoom providing real-time English/Spanish translations for everyone. It was a perfect, practical example of overcoming barriers and building bridges!
